Corporate Days

Fed up of paintball, go-karts? Ready for something different? This will probably be the most relaxing challenge you have ever experienced.

We offer three different styles of days which can be tailored to your requirements. They can be held in your area or you can come to our home ground in marvellous Mullaghmore, Co.Sligo.

We provide wetsuits for people most times as holding your breath makes you cold even in a heated pool (come on a day and find out why!). This can also help those who might feel uncomfortable  appearing in a swimsuit alongside peers. Although, after the relaxation and bonds forged during breath-hold work, most people become too chilled out to really care!

You can see a video of our Smacht day with Padraic O Maille, leading business people from Insurance companies, hardware suppliers, IT suppliers and retail here. Its just 4 minutes long and will give you a good idea of what went on.

Heres a couple of testimonials from people there on the day. We have more on a video that I will get posted soon.

Frank Kelly, The book Nest, Sligo,:  Freediving on Friday in Mullaghmore was a life changing experience, wonderful day great people, thanks to Padraic for organising it and Feargus and Sean for your guidance and support.

Patricia o Donnell. POD Financial services: Freediving in Mullaghmore last Friday was absoloutly wonderful, not to mention the fun we had getting in and out of those wetsuits, an experience never to be forgotten. A huge thank you to Feargus and Sean for thier patience and great spirit. Equally thanks to Padraic for co-ordinating the Smachtees.

Individual and Team Building (full or half-day)

A buddy stays focused for her freedive partnerIn freediving, a strong bond develops between “dive-buddies” as they learn to trust and support each other. Central to this bond is the internal discipline of each diver to maintain focus entirely on the needs of another.  Communication skills are enhanced too as they learn to read their buddy's signs, anticipate their needs and adjust their relationship based on mutual feedback after a dive.
We begin with a classroom overview of the day, introduction to freediving and  a workshop on freediving safety protocols. Light stretching and deep relaxation techniques follow before we hit the pool and do 'static apnea' - during which buddies watch over their partners before taking their own turn. In most instances people surpass their own expectations and shift confidently into underwater finning ('dynamic apnea').

Goals day (full or half-day)

Goals – everyone knows we should focus more on them and on achieving them. Yet many procrastinate on this. What if all we needed is the belief that we can do it – especially when the goal seems impossible?!
On this course students get more than info. They gain first hand experience of going beyond (what they think!) are their limits. So they learn first-hand that a horizon doesn't always mean a limit – and seemingly impossible goals can be achieved if they approach them with attention to technique, discipline and (when appropriate!) a 'what the heck' attitude.
99% of students usually go far beyond what they thought was possible. The obvious correlation being 'if I can do this here how can I do the same at work, business, life?
That seemingly impossible goal for the business or department may just be possible after all!

The Power Of Failure (half-day)

Freedive buddies review progressYes, you read right! There is power in failure!
In Ireland we still struggle with the notion that failure is a bad thing. So much so that we often steer clear of the person lest we become infected with failure ourselves! Other countries take a more advanced view - even rallying round the person in the knowledge that success is often just on the far side of failure.

Eddison and his light-bulb; the KFC company; Fedex... the people behind these ideas and businesses experienced failure on a regular basis.  The sales guys in Fedex were told how much cash orders they had to get in to have the planes released that day to deliver their previous orders. That's a tough call  But they knew how to learn from experience and how to persevere they are pretty well known now. Without their failures, they would not have made it. So it's important those who have failed don't leave your company and take their experience of failure with them - because chances are their replacement will end up making the very same mistake!

We help students see how they can learn and grow stronger after failing. Take stock, learn from it and move on like you are ready to kick ass.
